Introducing, Sarah Choi
Hi, I am the other Sarah of The Spark Mill.
After a decade of working in marketing, I am thrilled to join The Spark Mill to help make positive changes possible. I have a deep passion for connecting with others through shared experiences and believe in interconnectedness of all people and beings.
I have seen the impact of having the right people around to navigate even the most uncomfortable life changes through the pandemic. I love that consulting allows me to walk alongside clients in a similar way – listening to their stories, collaborating on solutions, and looking ahead to find a path together. I look forward to learning from a group of thoughtful and empathetic people at The Spark Mill and accompanying many clients in their journey through changes.
Here are 20 things about me:
I was born and raised in Korea until I was 16 years of age.
My Korean name means the most precious – Seo (precious) Yun (the first).
I have been living in Richmond since 2013 and absolutely love it.
I’ve worked as a marketing consultant for the last 9 years for various nonprofit organizations, businesses and authors.
For the first decade following college graduation, I was a part of three major gift fundraising teams - two HBCUs and a community health system.
I believe there are no coincidences.
I really love food. I find cooking and dining the most enjoyable expression of culture and history, and it is my favorite way of experiencing other cultures.
I strive to be a minimalist, but results vary.
I am really interested in mental health for women.
My almost five-year-old, Max, is my favorite person and the best teacher.
I’ve planned many events in my career, but my favorite event to have organized is the Silent Reading Parties.
When I get stuck in writing, I find it most helpful to play the piano reading sheet music.
During my first week at the Spark Mill, I learned I am an Enneagram Type 4.
My top five strengths are Strategic, Woo, Positivity, Individualist and Maximizer.
I’m a Pisces and a Tiger sign.
It’s most likely I remember how we met with more details than you thought.
If I could have one superpower, I would like to be able to transform anything by just thinking about how I want it to change.
My favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck.
I prefer working with pencils over pens. But if I use pens, extra fine points only, please.
