Power of Good - Celebrating the Volunteers in our Region
So it all started in a bathroom. In February I was honored to be part of local artist Tiffany Glass Ferreira's Shrinky Dink Selfie Campaign. Using social media selfies, Tiffany created tiny portraits of local Richmonders. While checking out the "Best Little Bathroom Show" at the Storefront for Community Design I ran into local do-gooder Holly Gordon, Program and Operations Manager for HandsOn Greater Richmond. Holly and I were checking out our own portraits and chatting with the artist when Tiffany mentioned she wanted to host a show in April but did not have a venue. April 5-12 is National Volunteer Week and I had been looking for a fun way to celebrate. I wanted to find a unique way to honor local volunteers and shine a spotlight onto the hard work they put into our region and its nonprofit organizations.
We are proud to present, Power of Good an art show in honor of HandsOn Greater Richmond and celebrating local volunteers. This collaborative event is offered to the Richmond region and a week long celebration of the power of our local volunteers culminating in an art show on April 11, 2014.
