It never fails that as soon as I complete a social media training one of the major tools makes a big change. This time it was Facebook. They are well known for making changes that people don't like but I really like this one and I've only played around for a few minutes. Today Facebook Insights, the tool page admins use to collect metrics was overhauled. Here you will find an overview of the changes. This link also takes you to a video that reviews the changes.
Some of the new insights included tab views and referrer data.
Looking over the metric I was able to identify a new algorithm change. If you look at the post on 10/08 which was a link that got pitiful reach only 8 people. I reposted it today and instead of including the link put the link in the comments. In less than 10 minutes the reach was doubled. I think the lesson is Facebook is favoring status updates more than just about anything else.
